SIEC 2011: Unlimited Paths to Success: Reframing Training, Supervision, Role Models, and Peer Mentoring

Thanks for those that were able to attend this session.  I will continue to post material here as we finish them this summer.  A VERY exciting time to be at the University of Minnesota, especially when all first year students will know their top 5 and 85% of them will live on campus.

85% will receive information about their Top 5. "Knowing" is a whole 'nother ballgame...Have you considered how you might demonstrate empirically that students "know" their top 5?

We have a University wide assessment process being worked on right now.  As for housing, we have set learning outcomes and are finishing our educational strategies to meet those outcomes.  We hope to achieve a significant level of integration buy the end of the first year with the students who live on campus.  Once our plans are finalized, I will post them here including our overall model.

It was great meeting you and learning from you in Omaha Chris.  Looking forward to staying connected.

Make sure to look at the SSES as a simple tool to gauge understanding of strengths. I've attached both the instrument and the validity study for you to review. It would work well in a pre-test/post-test format.

Best of luck. Your "champion" attitude will carry this forward! Start looking for a catalyst to partner with.
