Strengths School

Do more of what you do best -- everyday -- at school

In an effort to help students integrate their Strengths into a cover letter and resume, I have created these examples.

I was wondering if other people have done this and if so how did you structure it?

So many places that hire now do what I believe is called "tiering" where they rank resumes based upon how well they meet the qualifications advertised. Someone could possibly utilize this to their advantage in a summary at the top of the resume by addressing how identified strengths meet those qualifications...
Thank you for sharing this Andrea! I am a career counselor at the University of Minnesota and we are looking for ways to incorporate strengths with helping students explore and prepare for careers--these cover letter and resume examples are very helpful!
Andrea, these are great! Thanks for sharing. I love how the focus is on getting the student to talk about the outcome of the talent theme, this helps for the hiring manager to see how the student's talents have led them to success. I agree with you that the best bet is to have students re-frame their talent themes into their own authentic language. I don't encourage students to use their Top 5 on the resume unless they KNOW that the organization they are applying to uses StrengthsQuest/StrengthsFinder across the board... otherwise a hiring manager could get quite distracted by see WOO on the resume!
These are great Andrea, thank you!
Thanks for Sharing!!
