I am looking forward to coming up with ways to make this really effective for our kids. I think it will really open up some doors to creating stronger relationships with kids, which will hopefully lead to increased participation in classes.
Good luck with your doctoral program. I'm trying to decide which way to go with one--either Ed. Admin or a more curriculum-based one. Should be fun doing more research!

There's a place in La Jolla called Acqua Trattoria that is schmantzy but affordable and has some great views of the water. Little Italy (on India St., ironically) has several good options, and the Gaslamp near downtown some tasty options too- Coronado also has some cool spots. Give me a type of food or general area & I'll get you some more. Eating is my specialty. ;-D
