- I am the Counseling Dept. Chair at Blue Valley West High School in Overland Park, KS. We are a school of about 1600 and are embarking on our School Strengths adventure as I write this. I have been a school counselor since graduating from the University of Wisconsin- Stout in 1983. I've worked in Wisconsin and the Twin Cities before coming to Kansas.

Most recently I have been assigned to a freshmen team and we are going to be introducing Strengths Finder to all of our freshmen in the future. The specific lessons are geared toward 4th graders, but the ideas could certainly be adapted for a high school audience. It's a starting place for advisories to look at helping kids develop strengths.
