HI Paul, I am working with HS students and am wondering if I could adapt your SS pgm. Seniors have been introduced to strengths and I am in midst of developing a pgm to continue the conversation. Perhaps as a 'club...Well Being Club where these kids could be mentors for at-risk students (as a community svc project). Could be one semester in training focusing on personal strengths..success plans..then second semester could be as mentors... HELP, thinking out loud. Developing strengths, character thru mentoring.. would appreciate a conversation. Thanks. jeanne

Sorry I took so long to get back to you Phil.

Our Family Camps have had mixed results. They were not very well attended. But those who did show up had a marvelously great time and found it very effective. I think using Strengths to facilitate understanding and communication is a great way to bridge the generation gap - and facilitate understanding between spouses.

We used a fair amount of structure that Gallup provided for family camps and added in a few personal touches. If I can find my notes I'll post them or send them over to you.

Hi Phil - As you can tell, I don't tend to take the time to poke around on web venues like this very much. Covey said something about the urgent vs the important! I do hope that our paths cross at some point. When you are coming to campus, please let me know and we can have coffee or a meal. It's fun being at APU, where strengths is increasingly part of the fabric of the institution. Blessings on your areas of service! Karen

Dear Phil

thanks for adding me as your friend! I am not at all insulted with regard to my name. My father is indeed German, my mother from Finland, and I am a Swiss. Quite a salad, right! And on top of it, my fiancee is Brazilian!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I was out of the office, and I am trying to finalize RA Training. Here is the PowerPoint and Handouts I used for my Workshop. Let's go from there.

I'm actually a Northwestern College (IA) alum, so it's better that you said you were a Calvin alum than a Dordt alum! A colleague and I are at the very early stage of introducing Strengths to Hope. We have a feeling it's not going to be an easy road, unfortunately. However, we are optimistic that folks will eventually come around!
